What is Compass?
Compass is a fully registered, student-run, not-for-profit that targets the health gap in Ethiopia. Started by a group of 6 postgraduate medical students from the University of Western Australia. Our mission is “to empower Ethiopian citizens to reduce health gaps through the health aid and education provided by Compass students.” We do this by embedding medical students into Ethiopian communities that are currently underserved by the international medical community.
In addition to our presence in Ethiopia, we catalyse conversation in the Western Australian medical community about the international health gap, our partner organisations, and the many opportunities for medical students and professionals to make a difference. This is done by fostering a community on the UWA campus, and running events each year.
